Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Account agreement

When you create a Tryd account (including by verifying your email or phone), you agree to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms of Service. Please read both documents before continuing.

What we collect

When you use Tryd, we collect information you provide directly — your username, email address, and the snacks and fast food items you log, rate, or save. We also collect your flavor preferences, dietary filters, and any reviews you write.

If you grant location permission during onboarding, we store your city only — never your street address or precise coordinates.

How we use your data

Your data is used to power your personal Tryd experience: your ranked list, your feed, your recommendations. We do not sell your personal information.

We may use your anonymized, aggregated behavioral data — patterns in what users log, rate, search for, and discover — to produce commercial research insights for food brands and retailers. This is our B2B data product. No individual-level data is shared in this context. Your name, email, and identifying information are never included.

Personalization and these aggregated insights are part of the service described when you create your account, as set out in our Terms of Service and this policy.

Data sharing and third parties

We work with third-party service providers (analytics, hosting, email delivery) who process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements. We do not share your data with advertisers.

If Tryd is acquired or merges with another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before that happens.

Cookies and tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We may use analytics cookies to understand how Tryd is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account. To delete your account, go to Settings and select "Delete account," or email us directly.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Data retention

We retain your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data derived from your activity may be retained indefinitely in statistical form.
